Dating letters (required for vehicle import/export) for BMW group vehicles can be provided by BMW Motorrad UK at a cost of £120. To request a Dating letter for BMW Motorrad vehicles, please email eccoc@bmw.co.uk.
Your email must include:
- Full name
- Address
- 17-digit VIN
- Vehicle make and model
- First two pages of the V5 (vehicle registration) document
- Brief explanation as to why a dating later is required
Please note: A dating letter only confirms the build date of the vehicle.
Please allow 4 weeks for this to be sent to your address, as we only action these once the payment has cleared. We only provide printed copies of these and not electronic copies.
If you need technical information about a vehicle not originally first registered in the UK, please contact the original selling or exporting country for assistance.
The Homologation Department are unable to advise on the registration process for any country including the UK. You will need to contact the relevant authority in the country you are importing or exporting to.
The Homologation Department are unable to advise on any aspect of a conversion or if vehicles meet country specific requirements, the importing market authorities would determine this.
It may not be possible, in every case, to fully convert the vehicle to UK specification. Not all BMW Group Retailers will be prepared to carry out or advise on any conversion nor is there a genuine authorised conversion kit available.
