My smartphone is attached to the ConnectedRide Cradle. Why is the display so dark?

Check whether the smartphone is set to maximum screen brightness. Consider the outside temperature: Some smartphones automatically regulate screen brightness in high heat to protect against overheating. For example, the air stream can help to adjust the brightness up again. 

Charging the smartphone with a cable can help achieve consistent screen brightness.
