- Energy optimisation for BMW Motorrad Connected should be deactivated
- BMW Motorrad Connected must also be able to receive / send data in the background
Explanation:
For the BMW Motorrad Connected App to function, it requires authorisation to access the location of your smartphone at any time. The purpose of this authorisation is to ensure that the app continues to function even if your smartphone is in your pocket while riding and the app is running in the background. Navigation, route recording and speedlimit info (SLI) are based on the GPS location of your smartphone.
For BMW Motorrad, user privacy is a top priority. Location data will only be used for the purposes specified in the Data Protection Agreement.
Energy optimisation options offered by various smartphone manufacturers may cause the BMW Motorrad App to stop when it is running in the background (e.g. if your smartphone is in your jacket pocket while you are riding) or is being closed. In this case, the navigation, route recording and speed limit info (SLI) functions cannot be guaranteed to function properly.
